Ms. Anderson begins a portrait by talking with the client and getting an idea of the individuals personality and portrait desires. She then does sketches and a head study after recording various poses and expressions. The client may choose the setting, whether indoors for a more formal appearance, or in an outdoor setting such as a garden or park for a less formal portrait. Returning to the studio Ms. Anderson produces a color study which is sent to the client. The color study helps the client to see what the overall portrait will look like in terms of composition and colors. Once this is approved and returned, Ms. Anderson begins the portrait.

Upon delivery the client will have the option of the final sitting for minor corrections and changes. Commissions take 8-12 months from the first sitting to delivery of the painting.
